Plans are currently in motion for a Tidal Wave Auto Spa in Platteville. The development is the latest proposed on Platteville's Progressive Parkway, which has recently been the site of numerous new business ventures. Over the last couple years, Kwik Trip, Starbucks, Arby's, and U.S. Cellular have all begun separate developments on that same parkway.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa is the latest to file for a permit on Progressive Parkway, with the new location looking to be in front of Menard's at 1651 Progressive Parkway, next to the Arby's that is presently under construction.
The car wash building is expected to be 18 by 147 feet and will set on a lot that's an acre-and-a-half in size. A date for the start of construction hasn't been announced, but City of Platteville Community Development Director Joe Carroll told the outlets that it could be sometime in the spring:
It's kind of surprising we've had so much development at one time, but it's good to see. It's good to see job creation and additional business.
The Tidal Wave Auto Spa in Platteville will likely be similar in construction and design to the car wash that recently opened in Dubuque, located at 2541 Northwest Arterial, adjacent to the Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.
2023 will continue to be the year Platteville sees an influx in businesses. Crews broke ground on a Kwik Trip project at 1840 Ubersox Drive in 2022; the location used to be home to a Mobil. The Kwik Trip will feature both a fuel station and a convenience store as well as a car wash.
