[Platteville, WI] ---- Southwest Health is honored to announce a generous $1 million donation through the Kaiser Family Foundation Corporation to support the construction of a new childcare facility. This generous contribution brings Southwest Health one step closer to making high-quality childcare accessible to the southwest Wisconsin area.
“The most valuable need in southwest Wisconsin is childcare as our communities continue to grow. Our family is grateful to be able to work with Dan & Southwest Health to help that need. Family has always come first to us and we are happy to be able to showcase that through this project,” says Corey Kaiser of the Kaiser Family Foundation Corporation.
The gift from Kaiser Family Foundation Corporation will go directly towards the new construction of Southwest Health’s childcare center, helping make the facility a reality. Initially Southwest Health received a $2.5 million U.S. Department of Agriculture Congressionally Directed Spending Grant towards a childcare center. Three additional sources of funding will make this community asset a reality.
Resources are currently allocated in the Wisconsin State Budget, the very generous donation from the Kaiser Family Foundation, and significant funding from Southwest Health. The gift from the Kaiser Family Foundation Corporation has given new life to this critical project as Southwest Health seeks the remaining funds to push this project to the finish line.
The center would serve 140 children for both Southwest Health employees and the community. The center would be owned by Southwest Health and operated by New Horizon Academy, a Minnesota-based childcare company, who has been serving young children since 1971. With over 100 schools nationwide, New Horizon Academy is dedicated to excellence in childcare and early education, fostering a healthy sense of self in every child.
“Childcare is a critical need in our community, and this project would make a significant impact for families,” said Dan Rohrbach, CEO of Southwest Health. “We are incredibly grateful to the Kaiser Family Foundation for their generosity and shared goal of supporting our community. I look forward to the next several months of working with our state officials on securing the remaining funding needed.”
