Ruxton Apartment Building Now Complete

Built on the backs of lead miners, Platteville’s history is intrinsically steeped in grit and industry.

At its 1827 inception, the community was called the Platteville River Digs. Miners settled along the Roundtree branch of the Little Platte River, carving out streets that bent to the will of the mine shafts, zigging and zagging. The local tavern and blacksmith were soon followed by merchants and factories—the beginnings of a booming Main Street that still thrives today.

As a newcomer to downtown, Ruxton pays homage to Platteville’s industrial roots. Once home to the showroom of Pioneer Ford, the building’s past informs its way forward. The name is an ode to the New Era Motor’s Ruxton of 1929—a car that’s both classic and rare. The revived bones of the original dealership form Ruxton’s cornerstone, honoring history while keeping pace with modern demands.

Ruxton’s unit floor plans are designed to suit a variety of lifestyles, with upscale, durable finishes and great views. The comforts don’t stop there— Units also include:

• Space efficient eat-in kitchens

The Ruxton was the Recipient of the 2019 Best New Building Award.
