
Lots of Available Labor In Platteville
The area’s labor force combines rural work ethic with highly skilled students and graduates from the University of
Wisconsin-Platteville and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. In addition, over 6,000 workers commute out of Grant County
each day. Many of these workers would consider local employment if it were available. Up to 40% of the UW-Platteville graduates

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville also offers a part-time labor force. The University’s enrollment is 7,000 students
and approximately 2,000 work off campus. The Office of Student Employment is available to advertise job openings, screen and refer
qualified students and work with private businesses interested in hiring students. On average, 20 students apply for each off-campus
job opening. In addition, internship programs and senior design courses offer area manufacturers an opportunity to benefit from the
talent and resources available at UW-Platteville.
