Post-Secondary Educational Facilities
University of Wisconsin-Platteville College of Engineering,
Mathematics & Science and the College of Business, Industry,
Life Science & Agriculture offer companies direct access to
ongoing training to keep their workforce productive and competitive.
The Mechanical Engineering Department has twelve full-time Ph.D.
faculty with private sector experience available for either part-time
employment or consulting. The Electrical Engineering Department
has ten full-time Ph.D. or P.E. faculty. UW-Plattevilles administration
encourages faculty to get involved and support the regions
business community.
Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Fennimore, 25 miles
north of Platteville, offers faculty and staff that provide training
for employees customized to meet the needs of individual businesses.
Training occurs at the Technical College campus or may be held on
site if a business desires.
Public Schools
Platteville Public Schools are a significant asset to the
quality of life in and around Platteville and have developed a widespread
reputation for excellence. The Public School System includes three
elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Evening
school is provided through the Central Academy, which offers high
school students an opportunity to make up credit deficiencies and
for those whose learning styles require an alternative to the traditional
curriculum. Plattevilles schools are enhanced by a community
that values education:

that is 10% above the state average
Facility Renovation Platteville recently supported
major renovations to its five schools with a $15 million building
referendum.
Boosters Organizations Local booster clubs provide
extra dollars and volunteer help to support the schools
excellent music and sports programs.
